[부활의 의미]

부활을 과학적 자연법칙에 반하는 초자연적인 일의 발생으로 말하는 것은 부활의 의미를 곡해하는 것이다. 신앙은 초자연적으로 발생한 일을 '믿으라'고 말하는 것이 될 수 없다. 기독교 신앙을 자꾸 이런 식으로 설명하니까, 과학과 대치되는 꼴통 소리를 듣는 것이다. 

초자연적인 일이 일어난 것을 믿는 것이 믿음이고 구원인가? '예수 부활하셨다'는 초자연적인 일이 일어났다는 '과학적 선언'이 아니다. 성경은 과학과 대결하지 않는다. 2000년 전, 즉 고대 사회는 과학과 대치되는 방식으로 기독교 신앙을 말하지 않는다. 

과학의 시대, 즉 계몽주의 이후 기독교 신앙은 자꾸 과학과 대치되는 방향으로 가려고 들었다. 창세기의 창조 이야기를 과학적 관점에서 설명하려고 들고, 부활의 의미를 초자연적 관점에서 설명하려 들었다. 창조와 부활을 과학적 시각에서 설명하려 들면, 기독교 신앙은 산으로 간다. 과학 시대에 비추어 기독교 신앙은 과학에 반하는 꼴통이 될 수밖에 없다. 

부활의 의미는 전혀 과학을 반영하지 않는다. 오히려, 부활의 의미는 매우 정치적이다. 기독교 신앙은 '정치'와 대결한다. 과학과 대결하지 않는다. 그러므로, 부활의 의미는 정치적으로 살펴보아야 한다. 
부활은 인간에게 삶의 태도를 가르쳐 준다. 아주 절절한 가르침이다. 부활은 우리에게 절대로 주저 앉지 말라고 가르친다. 우리의 삶(현실)은 우리를 굴복시키고 주저 앉혀 삶을 후퇴시키려는 못된 유무형의 '정치적' 세력들이 득세한다. 

동물의 세계를 보면, 사자와 호랑이, 치타 같은 포식자들은 끊임없이 소나 가젤 같은 피식자들에게 달려든다. 피식자들은 포식자들에게 맞서 싸우지만 맘 먹고 달려든 포식자들에게 잡아 먹히기 일쑤다. 포식자들과 피식자들의 싸움이 시작되었을 때, 포식자들은 피식자들을 넘어뜨리려고 안간힘을 쓰고, 반대로 피식자들은 안 넘어지려고, 주저 앉지 안으려고 안간힘을 쓴다. 포식자들의 횡포를 피식자들이 이겨내지 못하고 주저 앉으면 모든 것이 끝장이다. 

부활의 의미는 세상의 악에게 지지 말고 끝까지 싸워 이기라는, 주저 앉지 말라는, 삶을 절대로 후퇴시키지 말라는 하나님의 위로와 이끄심이다. 주저 앉으면 모든 것이 끝장이다. 주저 앉으면 생명은 끝장나고 만다. 

부활은 생명의 절대적 긍정이다. 생명에 손대는 자는 악하다. 생명은 온 천하보다 귀한 것이다. 그러니, 포식자가 되려고 하지 말고, 피식자로 전락하지도 말고, 모든 생명이 서로의 생명을 풍성하게 해주는 생명 그 자체로 존재하라는 결연한 부르심이다.

그러므로, 부활을 믿는다는 것은 초자연적인 일, 과학에 대치되는 일이 발생했다는 것을 믿으라는 넌센스적인 강요가 아니라, 생명을 소중하게 여기며 살라는 하나님의 부르심에 대한 응답이다. 
초자연적으로 일어난 부활을 믿는다고, 그래서 나는 그리스도인이라고, 그래서 나는 천국을 가게 됐다고 기뻐하면서, 삶에서 포식자가 되어 피식자를 짓밟고 살아가면서 피식자의 눈에 피눈물 나게 한다면, 그런 사람은 결코 구원받은 그리스도인일 수 없다. 그리스도인은 고사하고 인간일 수 없다.

부활의 의미는 분명하다. 
생명을 해치는 것에 저항하라.
생명을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라.
부활의 의미는 정치적이다.
"저항하라. 그리고 사랑하라."

[The Meaning of Resurrection]

Speaking of resurrection as a supernatural event that defies the laws of nature distorts its true meaning. 

Faith is not about believing in something that happened supernaturally. When Christianity is constantly

explained in this way, it ends up being ridiculed as anti-scientific nonsense.

Is faith—and salvationㅡ really about believing that a supernatural event happened? The declaration

that “Jesus has risen” is not a scientific claim about a paranormal phenomenon.

Scripture does not confront science. Two thousand years ago, in ancient society,

the Christian faith was not described in opposition to science.

Since the Enlightenment, the age of science, Christianity has increasingly attempted to define itself in ways 

that oppose scientific reasoning. People try to explain the creation story in Genesis through scientific frameworks 

or define the resurrection in supernatural terms. But when creation and resurrection are interpreted 

through a scientific lens, Christian faith loses its way. In the modern scientific age, 

faith is reduced to absurdity when it tries to oppose science.

The meaning of the resurrection does not involve science at all. On the contrary, 

it is deeply political. Christian faith is not a confrontation with science but with politics, 

so the resurrection must be understood in political terms.

Resurrection teaches us an attitude toward lifeㅡ an intensely powerful lesson.

It tells us never to give in, never to collapse. In life (reality), wicked “political” forces try to oppress, subdue,

and diminish us.

In the animal world, predators like lions, tigers, and cheetahs constantly pursue prey like cows and gazelles. 

The prey fight back but often get caught by the predators, who attack with full intent. When the battle begins, 

predators try desperately to bring down their prey, while the prey struggle not to fall, stay on their feet, or collapse. Everything ends there if the prey gives in to the predators’ tyranny and falls.

The meaning of the resurrection is God’s comfort and guidance to never yield to the world's evil, fight to the end, 

and never retreat in life. If you collapse, it’s over. If you give in, life is over.

Resurrection is the absolute affirmation of life. Whoever harms life is evil. Life is more precious than the whole 

world. Therefore, we are called not to become predators, nor to live as helpless prey, but to exist as life itself—life that enriches the lives of others.

Believing in the resurrection is not believing in a supernatural event or nonsense that opposes science. Instead, 

it is to respond to God’s calling to cherish and protect life.

Suppose someone claims to believe in the resurrection and calls themselves a Christian, rejoicing in their supposed 

ticket to heaven, but lives as a predator trampling the weak, causing tears of blood in the eyes of the vulnerable. 

In that case, such a person can never be considered a faithful Christian. Such a person is not only no Christian—they have forfeited what it means to be truly human.

The meaning of the resurrection is clear: Resist all that harms life. Love life as your own body. 

The resurrection is political.
